Atrocious.

Since it isn't mentioned in the description I'd imagine that it isn't an "artsy improvement" on part of the seller.
Could have been a crime committed in the 70-90's... for whatever "fashion" purpose.

I again can only hope that there was so serious damage to the lapels before they were cut off. :(
However it still would have been better to keep it as an historical piece... with damage.

do you think the lapels are cut off or just folded under and basted in place? if the latter, that would be a nice cheap 30s/40s suit for someone.


In the movie studio wardrobe haul of 1920s suits, I saw one SB jacket whose lapel peaks had been folded back and sewn down with just a few stitches. The owner whipped out his seam ripper and brought the peaks back to life.

It says that this came from a costume shop, so my guess is that Burma Schave is correct...
