Who makes the best repro HBTs?

Any suggestions for a first pair?

I notice that WWII Impressions have increased their prices, putting them way out of my league (I'm paid in GBPs).

If they're the best, I'll have to start elsewhere... [huh]

I bought both US Army and USMC HBTs from WW2 Impressions back in '98, or so. the USMC HBTs were not made of USMC pattern HBT, which differs markedly from the Army cloth. But I do like the repro USMC trousers, despite this fact.

I have an original pair of USMC HBT dungarees, which I wear fairly often.

These trousers are utterly shapeless, with very wide legs but I like them.
The USN version, virtually the same as the USMC, in denim are quite fetching.

Some of the German repros in HBT are OK.

As to who makes the best... I'm a little in the dark.

Have a look at some of the UK, or German based eBay vendors.

I had some WW2 USMC kit from 'Okinawa to Tarawa' (Same company as King and Country, I believe, not the toy soldier company)

I don't know off hand if they are still in business, but they did good gear.

I had cover, 44 pattern shirt, and trousers.

WWII Impressions are what I have. I've known Juan since the 80s and he a swell guy and he backs his gear. It's pricey but most if not all of his gear is U.S. made. I heard he is currently moving his Ware house though.
