When they made the first Thin Man movie, nobody ever expected it to bwe such a huge hit. But I find I can watch them over and over again. There are just so many great period details in the background. And William Powell and Myrna Loy just give great acting lessons in every scene.
They also did several other non Thin Man movies together. My favorite is "Libeled lady". Much fun.

The Thin Man is my favorite movie. Yes, start with the first installment of the series but all of them are really good too, also read the book, you won't be dissappointed.

I agree with the rest - the first one first - terrific movies. William Powell and Myrna Loy had so much chemistry together that people thought they were married in real life.

i thought so too when i first watched thin man (about 15 years ago  ) what's so great about 'thin man' movies is that i really enjoy watching them over and over again and still laugh at myrna loy's sarcastic remarks lol

agreed first one first but they are all wonderful. I just started the book last night and I never, never like to watch a movie before I read the book, but this time out I am glad I did. Having Powell and Loy's expressions in my head when I read it is making it even better. :)

The second of the series - "After the Thin Man" - can be watched on your computer immediately at Netflix under their "watch instantly" feature. You must have an account with them.

Which 'Thin Man' movie should I start with? I've never seen any! I've heard they're good though....

FedoraFan, maybe you should start by saying "thank you" for all the helpful answers that Fedora Loungers have given to your many queries.

I can't recall you ever having said "thanks", ever. Please don't be another ArrowCollarMan.
