I an sure there have been lots of questions like this one floated, but I have a couple specific questions, so here goes:
There are at least three Pecard's leather dressings that might work with a new leather jacket. I can't decide which to use.
Pecard's CLASSIC says it works on everything but "coated" leather. Is my Taylor's Leatherware jacket "coated?" IDK.
Pecard's regular dressing has same caveat as "classic.'
Then there is Pecard's "antique" which is as much a restorative as a protectant. It may be specifically for leather of a certain vintage.
I am having trouble understanding the difference in these three products, or deciding which will work better as a conditioner / protectant on my new jacket. I want to soften the jacket a little bit, to get some of the shipping creases out of it and stretch out the buttonholes a bit. The jacket was folded inside a shipping box and has some creases that seem slow to come out, and the buttonholes need to soften and stretch a bit to be serviceable.
Another candidate might be Langlitz' leather dressing. Any recommendations?
