I probably confused things by posting the pic of me with John, because I'm not wearing my own jacket in that pic. Rather, it's one he had laying around.

It pains me to say it, but you own the jacket I want. I'm glad we don't live on the same continent otherwise I'd have to choose another jacket.

Seriously beautiful jacket, and the exact combo I was thinking, wasn't sure if the gold
Knits were correct for accuracy, but thought would compliment 102 perfectly. Love the colour it's really interesting, not boring in the slightest.

Did John mention anything about the blackened zippers he is getting for the M-444?

Was that A-2 you were wearing an Monarch perhaps? What contract was John wearing, did you know?

Brettafet, both Monarchs, if I remember correctly. I know for sure the one I was wearing was a monarch. It's absolutely my personal fav.

Cham, the problem is we have too similar of taste! Go for it:)
And to answer your question, I didn't think to ask in the moment about black painted sliders. Once this one needs replacement ill probably go that route, or perhaps follow Andrew's lead and carefully paint it myself.

Good choice on the LHJ 102. I have a GW Dubow in that hide and for me it is hard to imagine a nicer leather. Great character, color and weight. I'm hoping the weather gets colder here soon so I can start wearing it again on a regular basis. Johns jackets really are about as good as it gets. My Dubow is definitely the one item of clothing I would grab if I had to flee a burning building (hoping it never comes to this though).

Het Bretron, did you ask for slightly more rounded collar points? Or is that my imagination.... ps Weekend is a good time to have some 'A-2 modelling' pics taken ;)))))

Winner! I recon the 102 was the better choice! Looks like a great fit... Are the knits tight?

Thx man! What others (and I) have said over and over again about John Chapman's work is true: incomparable quality and attention to detail.
In answer to your questions. I didn't request any mods to the pattern. In fact, I didn't even give JC my measurements at all. I tried a few jackets on, and he said "I got this"
And as far as the knits; yeah, they're definitely tight (could ya tell? ;) ). To me, it just means they'll withstand more wear

Absolutely. Kinda gets me thinking. Paying that much for a jacket, might be a good idea to fly over and have a coffee with the guy. Enjoy ;)
