i hate mowing the lawn. it's big and there's all the trees and plants to consider.

i'm ok with laundry because i can inspect my clothes and nip any problems in the bud (a stich in time saves nine), and garbage because then i have gotten all trash/recycling out and i feel like it's a fresh start...

i'm seriously thinking of astro-turfing my yard.

Folding and putting away clothes must be the worst chore ever! And with two kiddies we have tons of clothes in circulation *ugh*

Taking dishes out of the dishwasher is a runner up, closely followed by putting away stuff I´m finished with.

Seems like the word I´m after is Tidying.

I don't really like doing these things, either. I see how fast I can get the dishes put away. The laundry often stays in the basket, though.

Well, I'm super late to this thread but I had to add my laundry hate :rage:

I don't have the words to describe the dislike I have for the smell of laundry detergent. Blech.

I really like Seventh Generation. It isn't made with petroleum, and smells faintly of oranges.

I killed my lawn and planted flowers and bushes in the front and on the side, and a buffalo grass lawn in the back. It only gets about 5" high. I got rid of my lawnmower and now I just have a neighbor kid mow it once a year. It's less work, it looks better and takes a lot less water.

I hate doing EVERYTHING. Which is a shame because I LOVE a clean house. I do it, though I hate it. I'm actually procrastinating now. I didn't do a few things yesterday that need to be done today and I don't want to do it. :(
Yeah, that about sums it up for me, too.
However there is one activity which transcends them all: doing my taxes . . .

What I like:
- Folding the laundry. Very cathartic, makes one feel accomplished. Precisely because it's only pyjamas and skivvies; my vintage everyday goes for a monthly dry cleaning.
- Dusting, also vacuming with my little sweet dustbuster (only a four-room apartment, so of course its easy). Cat-hair-bunnies begone.

What I utterly despise:
- PAYING for laundry. Like $7 each time; though at least the washwoom is in the basement. (When the higher-ups were rebuilding that room, I had to schlep my wash across town to a friend's in a Grandma cart-- AWFUL.)
- Taking out the garbage/two cat litters. Caring for two cats in a small space is a bit awful, so the litters must be disposed of every two-three days. Heavy lifiting, and procrastination is futile, if I want to keep my house visitable.
- ALL DISHWASHING. No dishwasher in this house! Scrubbing each little fork prong--though I try to get rid of the food traces before letting them sit for a week or so.
- Floor cleaning; both the hardwood, and bathroom-kitchen tile. (Luckily, the bathroom has that awesome 1920s octagonal tile, with BLACK GROUT, so I can get away with a less-than-thourough job...)

However, I've found a '30s apron can work wonders on the psyche when getting things done. ;)

I also don't like washing other people's dishes. I don't mind washing dishes when I've just been eating a meal with people, helping to clean up. It's the dishes that get left behind from meals I wasn't around for. For some reason unidentified dirty dishes gross me out. I would much rather clean the bathroom. As long as I have rubber gloves I'm a fearless bathroom cleaner.
exact same thing here! I sometimes even have physical reactions when the dishes are particularly greasy or strange :eusa_doh:

garbage bags are disgusting too, but well at least they're contained in a bag [huh]

I really don't like to vacuum. Besides, it upsets my cat.

I also don't like to fold laundry. So I don't -- I toss it in the basket as I take it off the clothesline and it stays there until I use it again. Being able to get away with this is one of the benefits of living alone.
I bet you don't iron either;)
