What's wrong with cherry FQHH?

Before I knew of this place or even had the idea to take photos I went through a couple of aero cherry FQHH jackets. Sadly I had to let them go for fit reasons but according to my eyes this is a great colour. I also think the cherry would go well with grey hair.

So i wonder, why aren't there any cherry FQHH jackets on the lounge?

I love cherry jackets. They are georgeous.
I think the problem is that they are a little too eyecatching when new, and they will take a looooong time to get to that aged stage where the cherry really looks good.

If I lived in a bigger city then I would go for it, but if I wore a shiny new cherry jacket here, I would look like a clown.....sadly.

What griff said. I too love them, but when new, they stand way out. Aged, they are marvelous. They match fewer things too, making it somewhat more limited...

We're supposed to match things? That's going to make the whole affair just a bit harder.....

well if the aero cherry were bright I could see the objection.. but it isn't! It's a dull cherry, like a kind of redder version of cordovan

I've never seen an old one and it would be good to see how they age but I guess on here that ain't gonna happen.

@ Hosier Daddy say it aint so! I damn sure wouldn't want a pink jacket

I am wondering why cherry is not listed on Aero's website. This is the first time I have heard of the color. I probably would rather have ordered cherry than cordovan.

I kept telling the dealer that I recetnly ordered from that I would like a more reddish version of cordovan without the purple. He kept taking that request out of my order as we revised it together, saying it would make my order take longer to make.

A faded cherry sounds exactly like what I kept requesting. I don't like the purplish tones of cordovan at all.

I googled "cherry aero FQHH" and no illustrations came up. Does anyone have any pics of Aero's cherry hides?

go to the aero website now and there's a cherry stockman for sale in the used section. The pictures aren't the greatest I don't think but you can get a decent idea of the colour. When you order direct from aero cherry is an option. It's just that nobody here seems to go down that road. But i definitely would, and might well do, next time out..

This one seems close to Cherry. It is a color that I like a great deal, but it is not cherry. The color was experimental at one time, and is not a standard color. To my knowledge, it's not available any longer. However, it was oil pull and not FQHH.

p.s. This color is called "mahogany." I looked it up since initially posting the pic here. Aero used it as a test skin and the hide is from America. It was only used for one jacket, to my knowledge, and this jacket was sold on Aero's bargain section of its website.

Too bad mahogany is not avail in FQHH as a regular choice for Aero hides. IMO, this jacket has the best color that I have yet seen on Aero's website.

Thank you, Schitz. Here are pics of cherry for those who are interested in seeing how FQHH cherry from Aero looks. Personally, I like the mahogany (above) better. It is quite a rich color with great depth. The cherry is okay. Now I don't feel so bad about my cordovan. I like it just fine. That shot of the cherry sleeve/back seam appears very bright; too bright for my wardrobe.

Those bright ones are surely taken with the flash on. As i recall it the cherry jackets i had were not so bright. Here's another pic i just found that possibly shows it off better

Actually maybe that is a bit bright? But with time the brightness obviously fades away

Look at the two slight scuff marks in the bottom pic in the photo series above. That can give somewhat of an idea where I get my 'pinkish' discription. The lighter undercoat can show through in worn areas with a much lighter cherry hue..that comes through as 'pinkish' in color.

When I was at the Aero factory a few weeks ago I saw the Cherry Stockman. At first I thought it cordovan, so it definitely wasn't offensively bright or noticeably pinkish. On closer inspection, the colour seemed more even than cordovan, which has the darker purpley contrast to it. It would be interesting to see a pic of the two colours together.
