What's the next Golden Era goodie they'll revive?

Got any predictions? What's the next thing from the Golden Era that today's world will revive? (A belief? A fashion? A way of working / playing / eating / praying?

To get you starting on your soothsaying, here's a prediction of mine. I've noticed that lots and lots of bicycles sold today are reproducing the old cruiser styles. I almost always see WHITEWALL TIRES on these bikes. I predict ... that whitewall tires will once again become VERY fashionable for cars. As soon as these cruiser-riding teenagers get their own cars, they'll want whitewalls. In about 5 years, many of the fancier/retro-looking new cars will be sold with whitewall options.

I predict.

A glorious revival of classical arts and crafts. A sort of renaissance for modern times to refute all the ugliness in modern "art".
Artists and craftsmen of all disciplines will be hard pressed to keep up with the demand for their works! :)

I'm putting my bet on fitted white linen suits for women next spring (2007) including belted backs a la 1930's.

I've always wanted whitewalls to come back, they've always seemed so perfect to me.

Of course, in some circles they've never left:

We being the trendsetters here, the better question may be which Golden Era item will WE revive.

With a magazine even. A contributor to which I'd dearly love to be. Maybe a column: The Thread Killer!lol

Let's push belted back tweed Norfolk jackets, shall we???

I'd like to see a return of melodious music. I would love to hear some decent vocalists with challenging melodies and some big band sounds. Rock and Rap are so dissonant to my ears.

Whitewalls coming back would be wonderful. What I'm hoping to have come back, in fashion at least, is hats. For both men and women, I just think they add such a classy look to an outfit, not that classy seems to be something a lot of people strive for in today's fashion, but oh well.

Sorry, I couldn't resist that.

Sorry, I couldn't resist either. Here's to a more Crime Ridden NYC, as per your request in another thread, to relieve you of your dullness. :kick:

Black dial telephones that connect you to a living breathing person. As lagniappe, perhaps a living breathing person who was trained that the "customer is always right."
