Chili con carne is beef slow cooked in a sauce made from peppers. There is a red and a green version with the red being the more traditional. Beans or frijolies,(usually pinto beans) prepared whole or creamed i.e. refried, are a serperate dish.
Chilli made with beans ,tomatoes, peppers and other spices is a Tex-mex dish.

Chili is a Texas dish. It's as Mexican as ravioli.

The want Chili con Tofu. I will be glad when the Vegans and Vegetarians get out of my face around here. Every Thanksgiving, Christmas or other feast holiday some dopes write to the local paper telling people they need to eat tofurkey or some damned fake meat Soylent Green. They don't realize it but they just make me buy more meat and eat more of it. lol lol Then regularly they write telling me how I am killing myself eating meat.
