Great work, Tom. One of the dividends of doing such a complete restoration yourself, is that you'll never need to call a home repairman for the rest of your life. When something breaks or wears out in your house...no problem...you've dealt with it before and you know how to repair or replace it yourself. The only time you'll ever call a professional is when you just don't feel like messing with a house project that day 'cause you'd rather go fishing.

Very true. To top it all off, you know how everything was done, too. There's nothing worse than going to repair something that somebody else installed. Usually the installer appears to be clueless lol

Hi Tom,

That really looks good regarding the house project. I have done something like that twice when I still lived in the states, and once, and I hope for the last time here in Germany in 2010. A great deal of work, but the satisfaction as you go along and complete each stage of the project is great. Good luck with the exterior when the weather warms up.

Hi Tom

Great job. I helped my Grandpa and Dad with our house years ago. One of my jobs was to take the nails out of the plaster lathes and then pile them in the basement. I made LOTS of stuff from those things growing up.

I don't miss that stuff much. I'll NEVER do wall paper, its straight, it goes on something that probably ain't straight, and it's sticky on one side. Recipe for disaster...
