last night: Ribeye (cast Iron skillet, fried in Bacon grease), green beans w/bacon, brown rice and roll.
Sounds amazing!

Tonight it's fried cabbage with spicy Italian sausage, garlic parmesan smashed potatoes, and English peas. A little manchego cheese and a vodka cocktail for an appetizer.

Now that sounds amazing! Tonight for me, it's Thai on Clark. Panang curry w/tofu for my wife, basil and ground duck for me. Vodka cocktail as appetizer, entree, and desert! I know. It's only Tuesday. Nevertheless...

This is the only place I've found that serves it this way. Ground with basil and peepers. It's unusual but has the most divine smokey flavor. This weekend I'm heading to my favorite butcher for some duck sausage. I absolutely love those fatty little dark meat water birds.

Le Colonial in the Rush Street restaurant district is a wonderful French/Vietnamese house.

Le Colonial in the Rush Street restaurant district is a wonderful French/Vietnamese house.

NYC also has a restaurant called Le Colonial with excellent French/Vietnamese food, but I'd almost go just for the architecture and decor as it has a not-forced time-travel-to-colonial-Vietname feel.

Beautiful! I would go just for the atmosphere.
:D

It is as nice as it looks. It's definitely "an evening out" place if you go for the whole shabingo-bango - pre-diner cocktails, dinner, desert (w/ after diner drink) which is a wonderful night (if you get bored with the table conversation, you just look around at the incredible architecture / decor). But we also will "pop" by now and again for a drink or drink and appetizers - soak up the atmosphere - and move on. No surprise, they really know how to make a Dark 'N' Stormy.

As appetizer two Bismarck-herrings and then one slice of greybread with sugarbeet-syrup and one slice with french, air-dried porc-salami. Yep, yummylicious combination. :D
