Prelude to a heart attack (that's a cheese "skirt" BTW)...

Last night, in honor of Lily's last day of 1st grade, and my last day of work for 9 weeks, pizza (Canadian bacon, sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, & olives) and a caesar salad.
Dessert when we got home, courtesy of the Filipino grandma of one of my students. She made us a plate of karioka (deep fried coconut rice balls, covered in a batter before frying and brown sugar glaze). Hubby wants to be adopted by her.
Tonight, grilled flank steak, buttered noodles, grilled zucchini, green salad.
A lot of barbecue brisket, sausage, and chicken while at a conference in San Antonio during the past week. And a decent amount of Dos Equis as well.
We attended a birthday party for one of Lily's school friends last week who is a cousin of my student (different school, same general neighborhood - about 2 miles apart). Grandma made the karioka for that party. That is how I got on her radar. She also made a batch for my school's staff end of year party. Chances are pretty good they can be had on demand. (They are a lovely family!)If she'll make those incredible sounding karioka regularly, I'll sign up for adoption as well.
And I love that buttered noodles pop up regularly in your meals - it's one of my favorite comfort foods.

Golden Mega or Golden Double or just Golden?
I like the Goldens as a break from the classic every now and again.
I have yet to put it on cereal, but maybe...I forget is Dos Equis a brand of milk or beer?
And there's "brisket" (which Baby Doll educate me to) showing up again.
