We had family over for dinner on Saturday and I made Paella in my new to me Paella pan. I picked it up off FB Marketplace for $12. My wife remarked why am I buying a paella pan as I never make paella. My response was remarkably on point......"because I didn't have a paella pan for goodness sakes!

I am mentally a mess. Discombobulated. Football season is over. It's a Tuesday. And there's no reason whatsoever that I need to wear Indiana Jones boots.

I'm still suffering NFL withdrawal. For no reason whatsoever, I made tortillas. Or flatbread. Whatever it is, it is flour and water. Cooked over a hot cast iron griddle. Handmade is never perfectly round. I also made some chicken. Then my brother in law dropped off some "flap meat". Also sold as Flap Steak. A cut of beef which is little known.

Nice haha my wife makes a good Paella, the good though is east coast Valencia, I've seen Paella pans the size of wagon wheels at fiestas

Yes, I have seen them in markets in France, Acquitane region, 5' across over a propane cooking flame. They sold it in styrofoam boxes by the 100grams. It was beautiful sight. Full disclosure, I put chorizo in mine....blasphemy, I know...mea culpa.

With US egg prices, that would be a king's ransom. I hope eggs cost less in Europe.






I'm still captivated by the Japanese version of Steak Fried Rice. However, the 6 egg fried rice has been downsized to a 2 egg fried rice. US egg prices are just too high.

I don't know what's authentic. Steak isn't commonly found on Asian menus. I'm using brown rice, and Chuck steak. For those who don't know, it's a value cut here in The USA. Not prime quality.​
