I shave my head because of my baldness pattern, certainly not to look "tough". I do not do the three-day beard thing though, unless I'm camping and that's just because...

Same here if I done shave my head I look like a medieval monk with a tonsure. If I miss shaving it isn't to look tough though just being lazy

And I suppose you have scientific data for this?
Oh yes! Well perhaps not scientific but you get the gist.................................

Ok how about the worst thing ever on clothing

Velcro

And my opinion only not science fact

For me one exception to the rule would be athletic shoes.
I personally think that athletic shoes with velcro closures are so much easier to get on and off than laces.

I also understand it for people with physical conditions where buttons are hard but I could never wear it especially in place of a shirt pocket button

In that case no.

Just in the case of athletic shoes mainly. :)

Shorts for men. Whoever thought up short pants for grown men was an idiot

Sandals for men when out and about. Maybe at a beach or something but I really don't want to see your feet at a restaurant.

T shirts with slogans on them. I don't wear T shirts anyway too uncomfortable

Anything advertising a clothing company

Depends on how you define "shorts." I wear plus fours golfing (I'm a terrible golfer and also use hickory shafted clubs) and I wear breeks that end just below the knees for some types of hunting. I'll admit it isn't a look for everyone and I'm the only person in my group that dresses this way. And I don't always dress that way for those events (I hope you aren't one of those who thinks you cannot start a sentence with a conjunction).

There are exceptions for most every rule. Sometimes I admire men wearing white socks with sandals; not because it looks good (it's hideous), but because they are comfortable with who they are and just don't care what others think.

Most of contemporary society thinks I'm the weird one for wearing fedoras. The older I get the less inclined I am to judge others. Just my thinking. Cheers.

(I hope you aren't one of those who thinks you cannot start a sentence with a conjunction).
Starting a sentence with a conjunction would earn you detention at my school. Later on I realised that conjunctions like the words 'and, but, if, so & because,' can be used to start a sentence if the use of them is not a conjunction. One usage however, did get on my nerves, that's when someone starts a conversation thus.
"So, there I was, standing in line......" It just grates on my ears.
For what it's worth, I was also taught never to split the infinitive, meaning you take a verb, for example, to write, when using it in text you must not split to & write.
You may say to write, plainly but you may not say, to plainly write. Makes you wonder how the starship Enterprise had to bodly go.

At my office I'm known as a grammar Nazi. It's amazing how many educated people white so poorly. I tried to teach them and would read it out loud expecting their ear to pick up the mistake. Nope. I've learned it's faster for me to just make changes to their written work myself.

Plus fours aren't shorts they are more like a form of breeches. I used to wear fencing breeches quite often but I wouldn't wear them outside the salle

Hence my disclaimer of how you define "shorts." Certainly there are board shorts etc. that extend below the knee. Remember the "clam digger" shorts of days gone by? One mans non-short meets another mans definition of a shorts. If you take the meaning literally as short pants then yes, they are shorts. They certainly are not full length pants.

The philistines I hunt with sure consider them shorts and get an endless amount of pleasure teasing me. Secretly they are all envious. My golf companion is my brother-in-law. He doesn't care about my attire, but he is convinced I haven't figured out that it's not the highest score that wins.

Well, this actually goes counter to the original point because he wears them much lower, they'll be long pants. ;)

Seriously, I think shorts worn that low look ridiculous, but I wouldn't call anyone an idiot for inventing, designing, or wearing them in any configuration.

It’s easy to state an anonymous opinion. Ever had a girlfriend, wife etc. ask “does this dress make me look fat”? Try using diplomacy to get out of that one. Especially when they aren’t choosing between a few different options....huh?
