What Would You Change (about yourself) for Your Vintage Wear?

If there was something about yourself that you'd change for when you wear vintage - something like a vintage hair cut, or a more 20's-looking face. . .

Personally, I'd chop off about 2" from my feet to fit into all the lovely size 5 & 6 shoes I find on ebay. (I'm rather disgruntled right now over the death of shoes in my size and got to thinking, what would other people alter about themselves?)

I'd like to be slimmer, then I could wear all sorts of styles and hats and things I cannot wear at present because (1) hard to find anything that fits and (2), even if I do find something that fits, it doesn't look good on me.

I don't want to be model slim or even look like I did in high school, but just light weight enough to look even better in my hats and things.

Slim enough to wear cowgirl chaps. I have a things about chaps....

I'd like to not have to wear bangs! I like the 40s styles without the bangs but really my forehead SCREAMS out for them. So maybe a shorter, more rounded face would do! :p

I'd have the 40's movie star midriff! Not the "looks like you're going to break in half" skinny that seems to be the modern ideal. I'm working on that one. I'm in love with My Food Diary. :D

The other is hair that is full of body and took to and held 1940's curled styles perfectly!!! My hair is fine and just wants to go flat!

Vanessa, I'm with you...

Size 9.5-10 feet just weren't made for vintage shoes! If I had the time and resources, I'd start my own reproduction line... maybe someday!

I'll go with the feet as well! I would love to wear a size 6(in shoes!), there are so many 20's shoes at the moment on ebay in the size 6, they look soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo gorgeous, I would kill for them, but I don't really think I would chop off something.....

And I would like to have a more Garbo like face, maybe.

The funny thing is, I actually sometimes would like to change my 20's figure, since I don't really have a waist. I'm not skinny like a stick or something, but I'm just somehow.... a bit.......... straight? *lol*

I'm pretty happy with myself, but It can't hurt to dream so:
Ideally, a bigger bust, but without some other curves too, i'd topple over.
Just once in my life, I'd like to be called voluptous, not twiggy.

When I first started out collecting vintage clothes, I wished i had smaller feet too! As most of the shoes that are original from the UK are about US size 5 or 6! But know I have enough shoes in my my size that I would just not want to give up!! But I can't help but look at some of the little jewel & sequin encrusted 5" platform shoes that turn up on ebay and wonder what it would be like to wear them.........;) (mind you I would probably be too scared about ruining them!! )
But apart from that everything is just fine as it is  (for the moment before I hit the chocolate again and can't fit into any of my dresses!!!!!)

I'll join Addi in the shoe reproduction thing. But I heard good news this morning on the radio - apparently, espadrilles & wedges are in this Spring. So everybody stock up when you see a particularly 40's influenced pair.

I'd like the head-reshaping machine too! My temples are too narrow for hats, unless I want to look like I'm playing dress-up. I'd also love thinner calves! Mine are too heavy for the hemline!

Well I can't complain too much. I do have size 6 feet and small hands so I'm luck to find lots of shoes and gloves.

And I'm pretty small, so I find an ample supply of clothing I like. (Although I will admit it was much easier about 10-15 lbs ago when I was dancing 6 nights a week and absurdly skinny.)

So, if I could change things it would have to be from the neck up. Hair the curled easily into vintage dos would be nice. I dream of getting places on time because I've been able to skip the hour spent with the curling iron to achieve the curls that will die in a hour anyway.

And a smaller head so hats fit please. I LOVE hats but I have a huge head. It is very rare to find on that fits and looks good.
