Bought the first season of Game of Thrones while on holiday, and watched ep.3 last night... not sure about it yet, and maybe its too early to judge, but I'm not as enthralled as I thought I would be; maybe the hype oversold it. Compared to some shows that hook you from the start, so you can hardly wait until the next episode, is not with me on this 'yet'...

In the words of "Da Pusherman".... "give it time bro... have another hit and give it time".....

If you're not hooked by the end of Season One I'll eat YOUR hat. (Nice brim by the by)

Yes, it was excellent! Remarkable how the Generals talked so nonchalantly about the Holocaust . Reminds you what the History Channel could be though.

I'm glad the BBC still puts out good documentaries.

I went to the library and got Sonke Neitzel's book, Soldaten. Going to be very interesting reading...

Agreed! I began this series with very low expectations ("Ah geez, what an obvious ripoff of Homeland!"), but it just got better and better! Who knew that an espionage drama set in the 80s was the perfect vehicle for examining the duplicity and illusions of marriage?!? A great little show, beautifully done.

It's really well done. I was a little concerned when the second episode didn't appear to hold up to the first, but thankfully it must have been a fluke. I'm eager to see what they do next and hope it doesn't suffer from second season blues - i.e. going downhill.

There is no way your eating my hat... well, you can have my £4.50 straw, but it might stick in the throat a bit :p

I will keep going with GOT - its certainly quality TV but slightly slower burning than I was expecting.

Bob Newhart in Big Bang Theory - again. That guy still has the timing down, and it went well with the show...
I have watched Bob since the 60s, but I will always get a laugh when I see him with Larry, Darryl and Darryl.
