There might be a separate thread here: "High-profile / classic movies one's never seen"

I will admit (with some embarrassment) that I've never seen all of "West Side Story" as I am always bored out of my mind when I try. It's not because it's a stylized musical - I love "The Sound of Music" and like "Singin' in the Rain." There is just something about the style of the movie that I can't engage with, at all. I've tried at least five times.

I have others - would this make a good thread?

One of my all time western favorites is "the Magnificent Seven" (1960).

But have never seen "The Seven Samurai" (1954) which is rated a classic .

I believe it would make a good thread...go for it...:eusa_clap

BTW: The Shane ending...always gets to me...:

I am surprised. Is it because it is a Polanski film?
:D

Errr I admit I'm not a "lover" of Mr. Polanski's work BUT I got's no beef with him. No I just... hell I just don't know WHY I've never seen it. Mebbe it's because the rich do dirt and get away with it I dunno... I'll hit it up someday.

I getcha. There are plenty of things that I have yet to get to for whatever reasons, many of which I am not sure of. Maybe a thread of, "What have you yet to get to, but mean to?" should be started.

Bruce Campbell does a pretty good turn as Elvis and Ossie Davis, in one of his last roles, nails it as JFK. If only all horror movies were this good.

I have long been a fan of Bruce 'The Chin' Campbell, but have yet to see Bubba Ho-Tep. I expect it to be bad or at least somewhat so, but some day, I must watch it.

Your expectations are correct !

One of my favorites.
We have it on DVD, and have seen it numerous times.
Now we know what happened to the real Elvis.
In all honesty, this could be one of Campbell's best performances.

TOE, Bubba Hotep is a DVD only on Netflix.

Thank you. I have seen it at Target many times and almost purchased it, but not yet. Maybe, I will go the Netflix way.
