Beyond the Valley of the Dolls. I was counting...erm...chest closeups.

A double feature today

Guys and Dolls, with a singing and dancing Marlon Brando and

The Godfather, with Marlon Brando doing something else entirely.

Choke.
Decent. With the exception of Angelica Huston, it had a bunch of terrible actors. As always, the book was better.

I could explain it to you, but your brain might possibly explode.

Drunken Angel by Kurosawa. Doctor attemps to save the life of a gangster afflicted with tuberculosis. Takashi Shimura and Toshiro Mifune play the doc and gangster.

I took my daughter and three of her friends (four nine-year-old girls was a lot to keep up with!) to the movie theater to see Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian.

Lots of plot holes and head-shaking minutes, but it was a lot of fun.

Wolverine - it was fun enough.

Anti Christ (Lars von Trier) - it was amazing... I'm still thinking about it. At first I was bored to death, but later, I realized this was part of the experience. Like with Tarkovsky's Solaris (which I, unlike Anti Christ, loved at first sight).

Cassandra's Dream, the recent Hitchcockian Woody Allen film somewhat similar in plot and setting to Match Point. While it's not as good as Match Point, I liked it a lot.

(As one reviewer pointed out, if this film was made by an unknown director, it would have been hailed as excellent, but Allen is stuck competing against his own resume.)
