The waistcoat above, btw, is original Levis probably 1947 pattern, but could be pre-war. The remains of the red tab are present in the seam of the chest pocket. Before I aqcuired it from one of his fans, it belonged to Billy Duffy of The Cult.

p.s. for some reason they were worried about selling buckles with prongs in the UK at the time, so we got a slider buckle instead. I think they now sell with functional prong buckles.

Its just not convincing when there is almost no wear to the jacket.
