I went to the Chap Olympiad last year and frankly found it quite disappointing. But while I was there I saw one chap in absolutely the best suit I have seen in a very long time:

Obviously quite a vintage style, but can anybody tell me what that style of suit is called?

This is a three-piece suit with three-button single-breasted coat. The lapels are called notch lapels. The fabric is a light brown pinstripe. It's a normal suit and has no special name. They were sometimes called Lounge suits or street suits... it's a basic elegant suit (and no sports-suit or evening suit etc.)

From the small photo it does not appear to be an old (vintage) suit. The fabric looks crisp and the cuffless narrow trousers and high gorge (where lapel and collar meet) lead me to believe it is a (possibly bespoke tailor-made) new suit inspired by 1920s suits. The high waist is unlike the current trend and also indicative of bespoke tailoring.

If this is vintage it might be from the 1950/60s.

too hard to tell but really looks like a bog standard 3 button suit to me - nothing more nothing less. Isthat is indeed a matching waist coat (cannot tell from here - buttons seem white and not tan as the coat)?
