I bought an alexander leathers classic café racer last week and it is new and comfortable. I know it's cowhide, but I don't know what kind. Now simmons bilt doesn't seem to have this kind of leather anymore, does anyone know this kind of leather or something similar?
My English is not good, thank you.

Maybe I should just ask: what kind of leather is this? Now it seems my question is a bit stupid

Lol, it's perfectly okay. You're hardly expected to be able to differentiate animal species just by looking at the photos of leather. It took us all here several years to figure it out, too, but eventually when you learn what to look for, it becomes easy.

Goatskin is very grainy like that, consistently more even all over than cowhide or horsehide and has a kind of almost artificial sheen - Or texture if you will - to it, compared to most other leather. It's a very sturdy and tough hide.

I'm still getting used to it, I used to wear soft cowhide and capeskin, the experience of this jacket is very different

What I see of the jacket in the pictures looks good to me. I think you can be satisfied. And if you like it, it doesn't matter what leather it is.
I also have jackets made of goatskin and would buy it again and again.

That’s some really nice looking goat. Nice price for the jacket too. I definitely think you did well.

Simmons Bilt/ Alexander Leather's goat is an excellent hide. A happy surprise.
After figuring out what it was, I liked it even more and now typing in it. I should be able to distinguish between cowhide and goat skin in the future.:p
