Ofer. Imadope. :(

I missed that detail! The Filson jacket is not an overcoat. So..

Anyway.

Uh, what you need is a Stormy Kromer, as Wolfmanjack suggests.

This looks like what you wear when you're "huntin' wabbits.":p

That coat's pretty neutral. I'd think just about any color would go with it, other than maybe dark brown, though even that could work depending on what else you're wearing.

The coat will not replace my Steinbock hunting coat. It will replace my greenish gray or grayish green MacGregor heavy wool coat that's a smidgin too small for me across the shoulders -- magnificent coat, though. I generally wear khaki-colored pants, occasionally dark blue and taupe (brownish purple -- I know it sound grotesque, but looks okay to me).

With khaki pants and that wool coat with a light collar, I'll bet you could wear a light-colored open road type hat, e.g. Miller Douglas in fawn, gray or silverbelly:

Others may disagree, of course, but I'd never be able to sport the Elmer Fudd look the coat is so clearly calling for...

Sorry about that - I was referring to the comment above re: "hunting wabbits" and the Stormy Kromer hat posted by Scotrace - no offense taken I hope. I like that hat and the coat too.

Naphtali, the discussion on this thread led me to the idea that a hat like this might look great with your coat:

Of course, these can be worn flaps-up, "trooper" style. The sheepskin would coordinate well with the collar of your coat.

Re the black hats, funny that they carry that automatic association for so many. Never occurred to me when I started wearing them - still not an issue to me, but then the only person who ever seems to have taken offence to any of my hats (in this case, a carbon grey Federation) was ***** gentlman who hissed "DELETE" (or words to that effect) at me one morning outside the local tube station. [huh]

That's not a gentleman that's bigot.:rage: :rage:
