Happy Halloween to all! Finally got a light rain after a dry week...maybe the grass won't die before winter sets in. Today I have a modest little 4x Stetson Giant with some brim curl work I did on it.. curl leaves me a 3" brim front and back and 2-3/4" on the sides. 5-1/2 crown. To me it's just about the perfect size and dimensions....large enuf for sun and rain but not too big View attachment 820935 View attachment 820936 View attachment 820938 View attachment 820937 View attachment 820939

Stetson One Hundred for my wife and a Diamante for me.

Okay guys, for the record, I do not own a Diamante. I was just messing around. I was wearing an Indy hat that day and sent the picture to a buddy of mine who does graphic design and he put the Diamante in the shot. I thought for sure one of the Stetson guys would call me out on it lol.

In case anyone is not aware, the Diamante is like a 6k hat. Maybe one day lol.

The One Hundred my wife is wearing is legit though. Priorities.

Foggy morning here in East Texas.. today I'm pulling out an old Houston made 4x American Hat Co hat. Many years ago I rode my bicycle about 12 miles to their shop next to Stelzigs we Western gear and saddle shop to buy my first good Western hat. I seriously doubt anyone could make that run in Houston traffic safely on a bicycle with a new hat on the head and the box under my arm lol. Man I used to love the smell of that saddle and tack shop....prob one of the reasons I took up leatherwork.

As a side note, while Ive pretty much been laid up after foot surgery,( hard to move around with a good chunk of the bottom of a foot removed) I dug out a Magnum PI dvd box set and have been binge watching. I should probably be ashamed to admit just how many Paradise Found shirts I own. Many a time Tom Selleck appears on screen and my mind goes " I have that shirt"!

I’ve been a sporadic visitor here of late, and when I get here I end up spending my time catching up rather than posting. I’ve got 30 pages to catch up on this thread alone.
Anyway, felt season has finally arrived in Japan. I celebrated its arrival today with one of my favourites. My Hornskov Emissary in black cherry beaver with a midnight blue ribbon.

So great to see you and Etsuko, Gary. You're both as stylish as ever in your Hornskov and Maxim and, as always, wonderful dress sense.

Stefan's hats of the week are always a highlight on Sundays. Your post definitely doubled the Sunday joy.

I think I'm coming to like this as my ideal fedora type. I dig the smaller, but not super thin ribbon, the raw edge with little stitched treatment, the crown height and block profile, and mine looks equally good brim up or snapped down. My only wish is that mine was a little older and didn't have a plastic tip liner. I may try to follow RickP's suggestion on how to remove it.

Playbouy hats were often sold without liners…
