VS Art Fawcett at a winery thing yesterday evening.

The dude in the picture is my cousin and the woman in the background is his wife. She makes pottery and is somehow involved in this little arts and crafts thing they have here.

I’ve got him wearing hats, but so far just a couple of cheap modern ones. I’m looking for something cool in the absolutely absurd size of 7 7/8 if anybody has any leads on one.

Nice VS hat! I keep an eye out for one in my size but I haven’t found the right one available yet. I like those boots! Can you give a quick rundown?

Thanks :) The boots are from Thursday. I think they are a reasonable compromise between quality and expense.

Nice setting, but.....never hold the wine by the top of the glass; always hold it by the stem. Wine etiquette rule no. 1 haha

I am not sure if he has anything he’s looking to part with, however our lounge member friend Brent is up around that size and he does on occasion try to “thin the herd”. He current has a hat group he runs on Facebook.

Very cool Joe!!
Thank you Marcel. I love that this one, with the exception of a couple moth nips on the crown that were there when it arrived 5 or 6 years ago, is almost in the condition it was sold in back in the 1940s or 50s. And on top of that a super comfy perfect fit… it really needs to come out to play more often. That said…. I did manage to bump into a dirty door jam while getting in my car in the rain the other day leaving a dirty spot front and center. And I thought… well there goes that. Luckily when it dried, I was able to brush the dirt out fairly completely... I think.

50s OR that I bought a few years back from the “infamous” eBay seller who’s 120+ year old dad has an endless supply of vintage hats. I had to have this one refurbed as it was misrepresented when I purchased it. The 3X felt body was actually in very good condition. The sweat was toast and couldn’t be re-used after the re-block.

I experimented with putting in some cutter bumps. Not too sure I’ll keep it this way. The raindrops are remnants of the hurricane we’re getting in northwest Alabama.

Thanks! My gut told me Thursday Boots. They may make for a dressier alternative to my Iron Rangers.
I loved my Iron Rangers but they really caused my knees to hurt when I wore them. I gave them to my son in law whose respone was meh. Lol
I wear Heritage Moc toes most of the time, which do not hurt my knees. I have a couple of pairs, both roughout leather. One in slate and the other in Olive (really a tan color).

My everyday work boots are Thorogoods. I have two pairs, a round toe and a moc toe pair. They wear as comfortable as tennis shoes! Not the case with the IRs.

First off, what makes you say that a size 7-7/8 is absurd… (I’m a 7-3/4 — 7/8) then you ask for one?! OK, I’m over it. I’ll look around.

As I recall, Brent is a 7-5/8 — 7-3/4. That VS is fly.
