Slow start today. Evidently Microsoft, HP, AND Firefox all decided to push major updates at the same time....and they stepped all over each other... took me two full hours just to get the PC to turn on.... Sooo glad im retired IT and dont have to deal with this for a living anymore.

Today Im heading out with one of the conversions ( standard 3x Stetson western tweaked into a more fedora-ish form

That’s a thick raw edge on that brim! Nice conversion! That’s a fedora that will stand up to the elements!

I think this one comes from the late ’40s or early ’50s.

The liner reads “Národní podnik”—national enterprise—and the faint sweatband stamp appears to say “Formerly Hückel.” That puts it in the postwar chapter of a much older company. Hückel’s roots in Nový Jičín, formerly Neutitschein, go back to 1799. The firm became J. Hückel’s Söhne in 1869, and its operation was absorbed into TONAK following nationalization after WWII.

This one was imported by Maurice L. Rothschild of Chicago. Deep blue velour, matching ribbon, wind cord, and a cream liner with that elaborate little resizer ribbon and bow at the back of the sweatband. Lots of cool stuff going on.

This is a very, very cool hat. Pictures don't do it justice. This may be some of the finest, softest felt I have experenced. You can effortlessly shape it (and unshape it lol) with one finger. I love this thing.

A TONAK “Zephyr Seal Velour” in deep navy, from Dr. Max.

A happy (belated) Felt Hat Day to all you hat nuts. Sharing a personal favorite that I acquired in its original box, kept in marvelous condition by the family of the original owner who passed away in 1943. He would have purchased this sometime from 1938-1941.
