Sad news from East Texas this evening. Mr Moose the worlds best Chocolate Lab passed away tonight. Was having breathing trouble a couple days ago. We had an appt to get him looked at tomorrow. He started breathng hard this evening and then he just collapsed and was gone a minute or so later. At least we were together when the time came.

My hat for today, "brand new" delivered to work just now. Bates Poet in Bronze. It appears to have some damage underneath the brim, and the open crown is shaped. I suspect it's a second or a return, but for the price I paid of £50 plus shipping, you really can't complain. Soft antelope felt, very floppy, so it may require some stiffening up. Seems to be a good hat for the price. The box it came in as well, is excellent quality.

Headed out back for a bit of a contemplative smoke. An old Peterson with Boswell Countryside american/ english blend. Needed a nice strong Latakia hit to fix the worlds problems.

A 3x Open Road with embroidered liner this morning. Ive always been particularly fond of the flatter brimed Open Roads for some reason

Today, I will go live at 11am EST and begin by paying a small tribute to "Mr. Moose", the beloved four-legged companion of TFL member @RickP. Mr. Moose just recently passed away and I think I can safely speak for the rest of our TFL family when I say that he will truly be missed. Although Mr. Moose was a Chocolate Lab, I will choose to honor him today by wearing my Mallory Retriever Premier Quality and go into a little bit of history behind the historic Mallory hat brand. Pop in if you want to share any "Mr. Moose" stories, chat about Mallory, or anything else hat-related.
