Another warm muggy day coming up here in East Texas. Time for another Hemp hat. This one a Stetson Stratoliner. Bit heavier than yesterdays Borsalino, but I love these hemp Stratoliners ( have several different colors so I can match the shirts properly!)

I wanted to wear one of my new ties today, and the Portis just felt like a good match.
I love these vintage ties. Especially the hand painted ones.

I guess I've always been that guy from the insurance commercial that's "becoming their parent", because I love talking to random people when I'm out and about (it drives my family crazy). The only thing that can match a fedora as a conversation starter, is a nice painted silk tie.

1910 E. A. Mallory today. I bought it from Bob Hufford, who sold a similar No. 1 Quality Stetson last week. I was about to go overboard on the bidding for it (I really liked it) when I remembered I had this Mallory. I got it out of the safe, put it on, and decided I liked it better, so I regretted even my smaller bid. Fortunately, someone else won it.
