Wool Hornskov Centre Dent for shopping today.

Also wore my new Dan Post western boots.

Now with no Goodyear welt, and with their rubber soles & stuff, I don’t know if they would pass the genuine cowboy test, but I am just a bloke hanging around in Japan and not doing cowboy stuff, so they’ll do. I also tried some Ropers, which may be more practical for me, but just didn’t really like the look.

They feel pretty good on, although the stiffer leather of the counter does hurt my ankle a little. That’s a problem I’ve had with short boots & slightly higher shoes before, so I’m expecting it to get better with wear, I walked for half an hour in them yesterday, and spent a couple of hours shopping in them today. Slight pain, as mentioned, but no redness or lingering pain.

They look the part.

Longevity is often a factor of the cement gluing holding. Some shoes I have had fall to pieces quickly and others are still hanging around with thousands of kilometres on them. Often it is not the price as I have found the more expensive ones of cement construction more likely to fail than more economical ones.

Providing the leather can take conditioning and polish they should only get better with age.

The Mossant, Did you know that Christian Dior said: “Without hats there is no civilisation?"
You, and the hat, Stefan, have taken a leaf out of Dior's book. It's so classic.
Thank you very much, Robert. I wonder if Dior was speaking on men's hats, but we'll take it.
This rare handcrafted hat wins without a doubt. I would like more information if possible. Thanks Stefan!
Grazie, Daniele. I posted the hat here when I first got it: https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/post-new-hats-here.28145/post-2897929

Character in spades! Glorious old Stetson, Alan.
