I switched out to a Dobbs Forty while it is still cool enough for this heavy felt. I was lucky to score two of these from the same owner.

Some fine early spring weather this week. We'll enjoy it while it lasts. Sunday is here and so are the hats of the week. All of them with some sunshine to look their best.

Those first two Barbisios for me. Maybe because I was wearing a Steur Barbisio today, too.

Etsuko was in an Akubra Leisure Time.

I changed to an Akubra Snowy River for garden work in the afternoon.

Gamble & Gunn have made me a number of hats, this one, being black, I had reservations about. Tina reassured me that, with the black trousers that she made for me, the black hat would sit well.

When I was a small boy our television was only black and white. We thrilled at the action movies imported from America. To this day I still can't help thinking that the good guys wore white hats and the baddies wore black.

Stefan, with both of us in black hats, we could look like the archetypical movie baddies of the 1950's. What do you say that we go rob a bank or two?

Thank you, Robert. Tina is right as usual. We need more love for the black hats. I'm amazed that you still have banks to rob over there. Almost all of them seem to have disappeared here. We could use the MG as a getaway car. We might not get away with it, but it would be the most stylish bankrobbery in decades I'm sure!

Thanks, Gary. You and Etsuko look colour matched with the hats. Cool look.
You look less happy facing the garden work ;)
It’s was actually taken after the garden work! I guess I’m just a grumpy old codger!
The colour match was coincidental, but I do enjoy this hat. I actually find the suede sweatband really comfortable. It seems to run small for a 59 to me, but it fits nicely.
I’m in the process of purchasing a couple of Panamas from Robert @belfastboy. It’s been an eye opener. I bought a flexi curve to measure my head, as I’d seen him suggest before. It seems that I’m not a 59 at all, but a long oval 58. Part of it is because I’ve shaved my head, but part of it is understanding my head shape. What that means going forward is probably more vintage size 59, since I think they’re mainly regular oval, and also because in my experience, the European hats seem to run a little smaller. I’m telling you this as my number one enabler!
One more thing. I neglected to post today’s Taiwanese food today. Here you go…

Great shape and colour, Don. A wide ribbon and wind cord are always a plus for me.

Definitely an older Borsalino.

Beautiful Borsalino, Don. Sometimes they do show up like that without a Borsalino label. Fifties or sixties I'd say.

Very nice, Don.

Winner winner chicken dinner!!!!!!! Gorgeous, Don!!!!

That’s a really nice lid,well done sir!

Thank you gentlemen.

Great look as usual!
You are always so gracious - By wearing a black hat, you go a long way towards fighting the negative stereotypes associated with such hats.
