W. & G. Schuchard "J. Harris & Co. Strand 32 London", possibly later 1950s and a recent arrival.

Unfortunately the plastic protector has further degraded.

It's 'just a black hat', but I think it looks great on you, Steve. You also gave it some nice new pinches.

Once again I am behind on this thread.

But I have a really good reason!

This past Monday I rented a car and set out on my first road trip in the US since 2022. I drove alone from Alabama to southwestern Oklahoma to visit family. I just made it back home a few hours ago.

It was an excellent test of my health and I did really well. I still have some brain fog issues but the vertigo is almost non-existent now and I felt sharp and alert all the time I was driving.

Could be the Gannon was helping me see things clearly. This was his first road trip as well.... I think he's just as ready to get to work as I am!

These photos are from earlier in the week, but it was the Gannon the whole way.

Have a great start to your work week, friends.

That's good news indeed, Nathan. The Gannon works.
Outstanding hat and outfit, Reggie.

I'm wearing my Resistol again today, hoping to tap into its positive mojo. When i bought it, it came with some provenance under the sweatband. A quick internet search revealed that its previous owner was apparently a hell of a man! - decorated WWII vet, entrepreneur, and pillar of his community.

So with that - I'm off... After half of my career in law enforcement, and half teaching, I'm starting the first day of my new chapter - or as I'm calling it, "semi-retirement" (I can't draw from my pension for another 5 years). I'll still be working at the University, but no longer teaching.

Zero stress!!! And maximum opportunity for hat wearing!

Been away for a while. Three nights in Melbourne, two in an airplane with 73 screaming vomiting kids. My Acorn Fawn Stylemaster took the trip with me. The vomiting began with one kid on day one in Australia (not the flight). It hit its peak on the last day. One in the bus, and continuing on the flight home, and another two on the flight.
The photos are taken in front of the Puffing Billy small gauge steam engine. Our failure to get the students to take motion sickness medicine before riding likely contributed to the problems.

Sleep deprivation, both in Australia, and especially on the flight home have made me the latest to succumb. I’ve been on water and “Oral Rehydration Solution” all day, as I’m unable to hold anything else down. Also struggling with headaches and stiffness.

That said, the hats I’ve been catching up on on this thread have offered some respite. There have been some truly magnificent offerings, and quite a few that I’d like to comment on individually, but with this brain fuzz, I don’t really feel up to it.
How unfortunate. Stomach bugs have been circulating heavily over here past couple months as well. Still sounds like an amazing trip, for the kids. And your Stylemaster seems to have performed admirably
