Stormy, Thundery, rainy morning... Had to postpone my morning coffee run until the storm line was passed. ( Had to stay home and keep Mr Moose the Lab calm with all th thunder). Finally all moved out and clearing up a bit. Still a bit of light rain so I pulled on the new RM Williams waxed jacket, and topped of with a Beaver Brand 5x. Im still learning how the editing tools on the new phone work... I keep removing parts of hat brims when I use the blur tool lol... still learning!

Wow, just this one page has four killer hats on it! I can't wait to catch up to the whole thread.

I am checked in to my flight home from Tokyo. Enjoying one last Japanese meal under the brim of the Fed IV. This guy has been a real trooper for this entire trip - and hardly the worse for wear.

I had two interesting hat encounters the last few days. The first was a little local fellow using what looked to be one of those face mask neck clips as a wind cord. Smart idea!

The second one was running into an Aussie in a Fed IV. His was imperial quality but the color almost exactly matched my heritage felt.

PS: I forgot about this pure beaver Stetson I saw for sale at a hat shop the other day. The crown must be six inches and the brim 3 inches. Amazing felt. They want $1000.00 for it. Glad it was way oversized or I would have been tempted despite the crazy price.

I remembered a 1974 song called, “Swamp Witch”. She, her name, Hattie, lived in a bog down in Okeechobee, Fla.
Was wondering if you and her had any ties.

Anton Peschel Dinkelsbühl "Rex" Velour possibly mid 1950s. I haven't worn this Velour in a while but is a great one. I found it back in 2016.

Anton Peschel Neutitschein (APN) Hat Holder, possibly 1930s or earlier. I found this Hat Holder in 2013.

That felt looks amazingly thick. Is that the case or is it just the proximity to your camera lens that's creating an illusion? I've looked on the Akubra site several times and never have found any info on felt weights.

My all-time favorite Jim Stafford song, which I have, in the 50 years it's been out, listened to at LEAST a thousand times. Genealogy's a little murky, but pretty sure she's a great aunt....
