The hat colour was meant to compliment a blazer in this fabric:

The white stripe is actually a light grey, the photo was taken by my phone, not exactly a quality camera.
Today I should have been wearing a new blazer to compliment the Gamble & Gunn bespoke hat.

A text from the tailor, apologising, meant a grey suit. That is until I remembered this summer blazer.
So disappointed that my blazer has been delayed. But as my lady so succinctly put it: "You will enjoy it all the more when it's done, and to perfection." The delay was due to the discovery of a flaw in the fabric.
"Gratification delayed is gratification intensified." Or so "they" say. Hang in there, Robert!

That's gorgeous, Rick (as is the jacket). Personally I would leave it just as is; I think that ribbon color is awesome.
Its prob going to stay the same... new ribbon just wouldnt look the same against the original brim binding. I DO need to figure out how the wind cord is affixed and snug it up a bit.

Today's lid is this new to me unlined Tonak in Brown with a 2" Forest Green ribbon and matching brim edge binding. The felt has a suede like feel to it and the color combination really compliments each other nicely.

You are right Mark, of course. At my age you would think that I have had enough time to grow out of that, kid who cannot wait for Christmas anxiety, not a bit of it.

My wife, Tina, has a cabin style studio where she indulges in her hobby of dress making. Whenever there's something for me that's coming off her sewing machine, I ply her with hot drinks and treats. She's got my number though:

Taking the hot drink and slice of chocolate cake, she smiles and will say: "Thank you, but tea and cake won't get you your shirt any quicker!"

Brüder Böhm "Böhms Ultima", possibly 1930s and made for the Norwegian Market. This is a really fantastic Velour with a very wide Band/Bow and tall Crown. It was made by the Brüder Böhm Neutitschein / Nový Jičín, Czechoslovak factory. I acquired this Velour from Panos back in 2021.

Victor Böhm's hat manufacturing apprentice certificate (Lehrbrief), issued in 1910 by the Vienna Hatmakers Association (die Genossenschaft der Wiener Hutmacher). Back in 2015 the grandson (Jonathan) of Victor Böhm owner and chief inventor at Brüder Böhm Wien, Neutitschein / Novy Jicin sent me the photos.

Spectacular!
By a small margin, this mystery Forty Jobber has the best felt I’ve ever owned.

That's beautiful, Randall. Gives off Knox vibes to me.
