My latest to roll up is this Knox Twenty Custom Edge. 2.75" brim, and the crown measures a hefty 5" at the front crush, and 5.25" on the sides. It’s graced with a full 2 inches of ribbon, and I peg the vintage at the late 1940s.

This is my fourth Knox, and it is ABSOLUTELY the champ among them. The felt on this one has the MOST luxurious feel of just about any hat I own.

Echter Borsalino "Qualità Superiore", possibly later 1930s. The Mélange felt finish is similar to Velour Soleil so shows a high amount of gloss and is very pliable. The mix of colors from a distance look Stone Gray like. I was very lucky to find this Soft Felt back in 2021.

This morning I'm proud to show y'all one of my latest acquisitions. Much like yesterday's hat, this is another of those " rare as hens' teeth" hats that I felt lucky to find. Demon Hanover made by Hoyt Hat Company in Danbury, Connecticut. There are some moth nibbles here & there but nothing that would stop me from wearing & enjoying this lid.

Way cool and congrats. Please take the time to add it to the Demon Hanover thread if you haven't already.

Darn, two Demons in about a month here!
Demon was a good horse. Not too many horses had a hat made in their honor.
I don’t think Roy made one for Trigger.
But then not too many horses had an owner that owned a hat factory.
And not too many privateer owner’s piloted their own horse to win the Hambletonian either!
Rare hat with a rarer story.
(Check the labels, maybe made by MacLachlan).

First I've heard that. Do you have any more details?

Timmy's label looks like mine.

Hey Jim:
If you mean maybe MacLachlan made, i’ll have to do some looking.
I recall some discussion with a hat Max, @drmaxtejeda found, “the Hambletonian”, and an association?? with Hoyt hats.
I recall it had a MacLachlan label.
Hope he might be able to clarify.

Day of changeable weather.
View attachment 656986
Leaden morning with rain on the way, midday strong wind and autumn sun with raining leaves.
I dusted off this Borsalino Qualità Extra Ssuperiore Amiata color and Goraita hat type

Lunch with the family in a neighborhood trattoria, a ballroom once in the sixties of the Veronese musical groups

The hat is an atypical Borsalino (for flat brims) sold in Italy probably in the late fifties early sixties

Thank you for your appreciation and compliments for your headgear.
That is VERY nice, Daniele!

Got a package in this afternoon with a great hat accessory for fall / winter.... A nice leather vest for concealed pistol carry. ( a Coronado Leather Co vest and a $28 Goodwill score!) Its a perfect match for the Akubra Metropolitan. Ill have to test out some other bigger brown hats tomorrow! Im thinking my older Whippet would go really well with it! (Or maybe my Black Bogart lol)

It has some National Rifle Association button snaps that Im not wild about, so Im thinking its a good excuse to get the doming block set out and put a curve on some old Mercury dimes and silver solder a snap adapter on the back. Silver Dime snaps would be way cooler!

Got here just in time for cooler weather!
