Ill definately keep that gracious offer in mind! Anytime I travel overseas, I always seem to make arrangements to meet with someone beforehand... Makes for a much nicer trip. If nothing else, the invitation is a good excuse to finally renew my passport ( Mine expired about 3 yrs ago lol)

I know what you mean about running out of room.... Think ive got close to 70 on the walls, and more piled up on the dining table.... With the holidays coming up and family coming up here, Im trying to figure out where to stack everything out of the way lol
I hope to see you Rick and if you don't have the opportunity to come to Europe soon, write me what your size is and I'll see what I can show you interesting.
Yesterday we had a meeting with an architect to renovate the premises where my hat collection is located and honestly I've been thinking about what to do since yesterday, without finding an acceptable solution, but I hope to have one by Monday :)

J. Hückel´s Söhne / Jaques Mayer "Standard", possibly later 1920s. Gary @The Shoe asked about this hat last weekend so I told him I would wear it this week. :) This special Soft Felt was custom made for a customer of Jacques Mayer Hutfabrik, Bratislava. I was very lucky to find it back in 2016.

A hat for a professional appointment
Dunn Velluto 2.jpg

Dunn & Co "proudly" made in the UK, that's what the sweatband says, more or less, but I have some doubts about the felt that seems to have been supplied by some European manufacturer

But you never know what happened in the making of hats in ancient times

The hat is very well finished with high quality components and fits like a glove, so it is among those that remain in Verona, despite the very specific desire to lighten my collection

Happy Saturday to all of you and congratulations on your hats that I recovered after two days of absence

I am accompanied by a lobbia Borsalino that I found after a long time that had disappeared for no reason :)

Happy to have "found" it and above all happy to walk in my valley.
To have lost a glorious hat like that one would have been a serious offense to the legacy of the Alessandria hatmakers. They can rest easy that it has been found and in good hands.

This morning I grabbed my new to me Dynafelt grizzly finish cowboy hat in a deep chocolate brown with a braided leather hatband. Normally I tend not to buy wool hats but I couldn't resist that long hair look. Most of y'all will recognize that pencil curl brim and are probably sick of hearing about it. Hey, I paid 22.00 for that tool and determined to get my $$$ worth. Bwahahahaha !!
TGIF... Hope y'all have a good 'un !!

I think the pencil curls gives it just that bit of extra, Tim. And yours are well executed too. The long hair finish drew my eye right away. Very cool hat.

A gorgeous velour and I have its smaller sized brother sitting on a shelf here, waiting to be worn.

42 degrees and feels like fall.. Lets pick an Autumn hat for the morning. To make it fun lets do before and after pictures

My favorite little lightweight Orange Stetson with green ribbon and edge binding. Its come a long way since it arrived all crunched up in the ebay box with paint spots and oil stains

OR.... a heavier Stetson 4x Cowboy Conversion. There wasnt anything wrong with this hat... It was just not my style originally

Thank you! But you have a Hornskov or two, don’t you, Gary?
I would be doing my own haka for one of those!
Yes, I might have one or five in my collection, but it’s my old ones (Stetson Custom V and Borsalino Debrosan, both from other loungers) that hold pride of place in my collection. And please, save us all from the abomination of your version of a haka!
