Finally! Been lookin for this Pre-Stetson Mallory for 5 years. Till now I haven’t found one in good condition in my size that was made pre-1947. American Hat Company Conroe, Texas 5X Open Crown western style. The silhouette is still not where I want it, just waiting on that pencil curl tool to arrive. Never done one of them before but the videos I watched sure make it look like it's easier to get the brim edge into the tool if it is relatively flat. Once the pencil curl is there I will go from there. The hatband that came with this hat just didn't do it for me so I have a beaded one on the way that should really make it *POP*. I ordered one like the top one in the last picture and plan on a hawk feather or something similar to stick in the band.

i spent too many yrs in uniform or in company logo polo shirts... when I retired I got rid of most of the bland shirts lol

Thanks fellas. I love this hat. I'd love to find a game bird that is equivalent. I do have a game bird, but the brim is too small for my liking.
