The late summer heat continues so I guess I'll just Bee Cool:
Glad to hear an update, Nathan, but certainly NOT the update I was hoping to hear. Sorry the freediving did not produce the hoped-for results. Prayers and positive thoughts continuing as you make this journey. For what it's worth, I think the shot looks like you, although we don't usually see "shot looking up from below" angles in your photos. Hang tough, my friend.Unfortunately, I am back in the land of super slow internet. If I wait about five minutes, maybe half the photos on any given page will load. I’ll have to catch up on this thread once I get somewhere with better internet.
I am fully wrapped up here with my health. Freediving was not the panacea I hoped it would be, but it has given me lots of new information about my symptoms. This next week, I plan to consult of a traditional Thai healer on island and see what they have to say.
The weather has been cool enough here to wear mostly my Stetson silk cap. This photo doesn’t quite look like me (or at least any me that I’m used to seeing in the mirror) which is maybe why it fascinates me so much.
Best wishes to you all from a beach in Thailand.

The Stetson is very nice, Eric, but that Manson is pure AWESOMENESS!!I wore a Manson fedora on my morning soirée.
I enjoyed my cold brew coffee under the brim of a Stetson Playboy.
Cheers, Eric -
Because one is fast food giant and the other a canned soup giant? I know the hat made me powerfully hungry for a giant meal once donned!Sweet Bowler, Randall. Given the history of the MacDonalds and Campbells, it's interesting to see both these names on a hat...
Thanks, friends! Now that is a beauty, Randall. Looks good on you, too.
Any labels under that supple looking sweatband?
Randall, Thank you! Super Excellent Quality Bowler from you today! The 1950s Borsalino Velour is very high quality Real Velour. The pre WWII Austrian Velour was the finest Real Velour. I would say J. Hückel´s Söhne / JHS was at the top. Technically JHS were in Czechoslovakia after WWI but they were still a Austrian - German company up to WWII. This is a good example.Nice old hat, brother!
Very interesting reading, Steve! Thanks for posting. I’ve a new respect for the art of making vintage velour hats and the cachet of owning vintage velour hats—of which I have around 5; all Borsalinos from the 50s.
Wonder how they rate…

J. Hückel´s Söhne "Superior" "Crystall Velour" possibly late 1920s early 1930s.
New Excellent Quality bowler, maybe from the 20s? The sweatband leather is of the best quality I’ve seen and will likely last another 100 years. View attachment 640214 View attachment 640215 View attachment 640216

Thanks Randall. Being you have a similar swampy climate to us much of the year… it might come in handy.Suh wheat!!!
Ya know, Joe, one day I’m gonna find me a sweet vented vintage fedora—that was vented at the factory and not by moths.
It was good to hear from you again Nathan. I hope your health improves and you're back to your old self soon !
Great to hear from you, Nathan. You're looking good, and look like yourself even though you don't feel or see it.
Don't be too sorry about slow Internet. It's good to get off the grid.
Love the cap, my friend.
Stay safe and be well.
