My uncle and aunt left today. We had a very fun and meaningful week together. They (we) had a family tragedy 20 years ago this July - it has been a long road of recovery and healing for all of us.

I have become reticent to post photos of family members just for privacy sake, but I’d like to share this one because I feel the joy and love is quite evident on all our faces - we had such a lovely visit.

I wore the JBS 25 over to my folks’ place yesterday then ended up staying overnight. This morning I’ve been messing around with the hats on permanent display in the guest bedroom. Here is my favorite WW2 era crusher cap and also a modern JBS Tom Mix. I have a modern Borsa hanging up as well but I can’t get good enough light to make a photo of it worthwhile on my head.

Happy hump day friends.

Wonderful family shot, Nathan. And man, that 25 is a thing of absolute beauty!

I really like the look of that conversion.
I especially like the fact that it was a half acre, $23 stetson 4x cowboy hat in the beginning.... much more wearable now

After three very hot dry weeks we finally got some rain along with a cold front moving through that lowered the temperature a bit. This morning as I looked at all my hats this splash of color caught my eye so I tossed it on and said hello world ! Knox Super Fine Homburg in Brown with matching brown brim binding. The Burgundy hatband really POPS in the sunlight but not much of that today for these pics. The felt is soft and easily shapes without steam. These Knox folks knew how to make a hat back in the day !!

Happy Birthday Randall!

Very nice, Randall! And Happy Belated Birthday, youngster. :D
Thanks, my dudes!
Anyone would’ve had a hard time convincing me I’m a youngster today. 99 degrees in the shade while I was having to be on the sunny side of a sinking old home place jacking up the house and digging under it to put in new concrete block pylons. Almost near bear caught at noon.
Alls I can say, is I sure hope my good friend appreciates me, his good friend.
