Sunday has come around again. New batch of hats this time and a new phone. Pics look better to my eye.

Mossant 'Imperial' by Sools. Bought this one only for it's brimedge stitching. :)
Great felt on this one. The lining is a bit dirty, but the sweatband in good condition. I have to stretch it a bit, because this 58 is a bit tight for me. Nevertheless a good find!

EDIT: I NOW SEE I POSTED THIS IN THE WRONG THREAD!! :-(

Time to give the nice hats a rest...Showing one of the rescued "Mutts" a little love this morning. Not really sure exactly this poor little used and abused thing started out as,because there were no tags or labels left. The sweatband is marked Stetson Soverign, and it has a wide edge binding... So Ill call this one the "Whipped Whippet"

Having a hat on your head that you dont have to worry about or be careful with can be a good thing.

Oh, snap!! That is gorgeous, Steve!

Wow, Steve, love the 6-ply band, wide brim with binding, and what looks like amazing quality felt in a great color! Can we see the inside? What’s the vintage?
Thanks fellas, much appreciated.

It's early to mid 60s. Here's some photos of the inside.

It's called "The Rollup", but I don’t believe it was ever a coffin box hat.

I had a few errands to run this morning so I grabbed one of my Stetson 3x Beaver Quality fedoras, this one in Camel with a Chocolate Brown hatband with a box bow on the side and contrasting color brim binding. I sometimes wonder about the history of these old hats...this one looks like someone bought it back in the day and put it up for safe keeping without hardly any wear at all.

Echter Borsalino "Sandurbar" possibly late 1920s. The color is "Ossido" and the Felt is of medium weight and very pliable. The Crown Tip Patch is missing but there are some glue remnants. I found this Soft Felt back in 2022.

Recently I was able to locate the shop "F. W. Hammer" that sold the hat in the 1928 and 1929 Stuttgarter Adressbücher / Stuttgart Address Books. There are no prior entries of the shop. The shop is no longer under F. W. Hammer in 1930 and changes location to Tübingerstr. 1 in 1933.

Super find, Steve.

The overall shape and dimensions are a joy to the eye. The wide ribbon and bow treatment are the icing on the cake.
