Good morning hat folks. I wore a PHD for my morning soirée. It is extraordinarily light on the head.

I enjoyed my morning coffee under the brim of a Stetson Stratoliner Milan. A more substantial hat is needed as the wind is picking up.

Today the former $26 cowboy hat takes to the air for its first public fedora-ish day. Did decide to flange it for a snap brim instead of an outback-ish swoop. Mainly giving it some head time today o see if I like the brim at 3" or trim just a hair more off. Threw on a horsehair band on temporarily... still trying to decide what color / size ribbon to use. Later today (if the heat and mosquitos cooperate) its may get a gas bath for a few spots. Then re blocking time, ribbon time, and brim binding time soon!

The passion for blue hats remains unchanged even when I decide that this will certainly be the last and then...
Flechet DL Blu 5.jpg
a dark blue, hairy and well-made appears on the market, how can you say no, despite my intentions.
Flechet DL Blu 1.jpg

Flechet De Luxe, size 59 or 7 3/8 in the USA. Quality "Juventus 30" and the color is "Nuit".
Flechet DL Blu 4.jpg
The ribbon is made of the same material (felt) as the hat and its shape is quite generous in proportions.
Here he is in one of his last outings before the heat submerges Italy, even if the almost summer days are interspersed with refreshing rain.
Flechet DL Blu 2.jpg
A round of applause for all the hats seen in the past weeks and an encouragement to continue the parade

Mayser "Libelle", possibly mid to later 1950s. This Soft Felt was in NOS and has a "Echter Mayser" Celluloid (just a guess) Label attached to the Sweatband which is the only one I have encountered. Overall this is a fantastic Soft Felt that I found back in 2021.

Back in 2021 I made a reverse image of the "Echter Mayser" Celluloid Label and translated the German text to English.

You Made The Right Choice With This Genuine Mayser.

It is the best German brand hat, made from the finest materials.

It preserves your personal touch and protects you from sun and rain.

You will enjoy it for a long time if you entrust its care to a specialist shop.

Premier quality Mallory Dallas for TAR Tuesday. Like all Dallases (I think), this felt takes any bash easily without steam.

Also on display is what I believe to be an early 1990s naked cowhide Schott A2 in very good condition. I didn’t expect that I would fall in love with this jacket but it came complete with the removable faux fur collar and liner for an unbeatable price so I decided to take a chance. It arrived last night and I haven’t been able to take him off since - I absolutely love it.

So yeah, now I’m not only the guy who wears full-brimmed hats everywhere, but also the guy wearing a leather jacket out in the 80 degree heat.

(To be fair, I did take him off after the photo shoot. Unfortunately, he will have to wait until fall or whenever I return from SE Asia… just one more incentive for me to get healthy enough to get back to work.)

I hear you on the "despite the heat" part. I got a little Orvis leather jacket in a while back and HAD to slap it on for a backyard pic... it was in the 90s, but I just couldnt wait till october lol. Silverbelly and tan are

That’s nice Rick - I love that collar stitching.

Yeah the brown and silverbelly go well together. I like the classic dark brown hat as well with my new Schott A2 - the Knox Twenty is killer with it.

I anticipate lots of Indiana Jones comments when I finally start wearing this coat regular, but I’m too old now to care anymore.

Ive done quite a few triple row stitching on leather jobs.. it really does add some body to the edge (no fly-away collars) Also one of my favorites for hat brims without binding

Beautiful—looks like you just wore it out of the store.
