Quite a looker, Timmy! This morning I decided to wear my Stetson Sovereign Twenty-Lite with Mode Edge. I really like the feel of this old hat. The felt molds easily by hand and it fits like an old friend. View attachment 618511 View attachment 618512 View attachment 618513 View attachment 618514 View attachment 618515 View attachment 618516
VERY nice! And thanks for introducing me to a label I had never encountered before.
Thank you sir. I feel lucky to have it in my collection !Quite a looker, Timmy!
Absolutely wonderful, Steve. It looks even better on you than in your first photos of it pre-wear.Ottmar Reich, possibly 1920s. I recently replaced the missing Mother of Pearl Button on the bottom of the Bow. This Stiff Straw Hat is very light in weight. Ottmar Reich started out as Straw Hat Factor in 1938 and added Soft Felt Hat production in 1932. I found this Stiff Straw back in 2016.
Ottmar Reich "100 Years" (I found this booklet back in 2014)
Ottmar Reich was located in Lindenberg, Germany (was a major Straw Hat center) and the old factory building is now the Deutsche Hutmuseum (German Hat Museum).
Deutsches Hutmuseum Kulturfabrik, Formely Ottmar Reich Factory. I visited the German Hat Museum back in 2016. Here are some photos I took.

Wow. I am not a huge fan of straw hats and particularly boaters but that one would make a convert out of me. What a ribbon! What an interior! I love the cord around it as well and it looks fantastic on you. Another winner aus ze Old Vorld!Ottmar Reich, possibly 1920s. Thanks for the photos of the factory / museum and link to the booklet.
Nathan, Thanks! It's very light in weight compared to a typical boater. I have another one that is some what similar and has a connection with Ottmar Reich. I will try to remember to wear it later this week.Wow. I am not a huge fan of straw hats and particularly boaters but that one would make a convert out of me. What a ribbon! What an interior! It may be a cheap beater, but it still looks fantastic. I love the colours.A cheap beater in 7-3/8 that I can wear as the unreeded sweat is coming loose.

The otherwise too easily shaped felt wants to stay in this somewhat organic crease. Works for me as this ghost is refusing to leave.
