A silverbelly Campdraft for a visit to the fish market.

You have a great range! And I agree, that Resistol really suits you. But I would also feel very conspicuous in it in Japan (there are areas of Thailand where it would fit right in, however).

Did you trim the ribbon on your Campdraft? The photo looks like you might have. The long ribbon is my one complaint with those models.

If you did trim it, did you have any fraying issues?

For some reason I grabbed my Vintage Silhouettes granite felt porker for today. Not kosher, but comfy!

Your wife is right about one thing, that Western definitely suits you, same as I said. BTW, what's the brim width on your Resistol?
Thanks again. It’s 10cm

Extremely conspicuous, particularly in combination with that poncho.

No, I haven’t trimmed it. I think it came out of storage a bit folded. I need to sort that out

It’s not a competition…though I do often feel like I’m losing!
With the lounge going so slow, and my focus being on the rugby World Cup, I found myself several pages behind on this thread. I’ve caught up now, and man, there have been some stunners of late.
Here are a few I’ve been wearing in the last few days…

A navy Borsalino, also for work…

Today I wore my Fed IV to work, but didn’t get a photo, so here it is in my relaxing-at-home clothes.

Oh, and I also put the rubbish out the other night wearing my PJs and my Resistol Roper. The place where we have to put the rubbish out is a two to three minute walk each way from my house. I don’t think anyone saw me. View attachment 553659
Some great hats, Gary. Particularly love the Resistol. I think the folks of your neighbourhood deserve to see it in the daylight.

I'd love to be able to see the rugby here.

Earlier I watched the semi-final between Argentina & New Zealand. There was only ever one team in it. Just in case there are those who have recorded it to watch later I won't give the result, just Google it.

You are well suited for western hats, Gary @The Shoe . Lookin' very good.

Now you're talkin'. That Resistol actually looks natural on you. I think I like that Western on you better than the hats your other pics. Westerns seem to suit you well. You need more of them. You're a natural for the Westerns! You've got that bad guy cool factor going on! (Pictured: Scott Glen, "Urban Cowboy").

More thin ribbon action for me today: a forest green Sears Pilgrim “Premiere Collection” 4x.

A very comfortable and sturdy hat - I would definitely buy another one of these.

This guy also came with a Smokey the Bear plaque!

Did the hat come with the sign originally? I love Smokey memorabilia.

Véritable Feutre de Poil (1960’s, wool & fur blend, Unknown French maker) that I picked up from Daniele a couple of years ago.

After an early finish at work, I wore my wool Hornskov for some grocery shopping. The felt is (obviously) well below the levels of my other Hornskovs, but it’s very nice for a wool felt and I really enjoy wearing it.

No Malbec in the house at present, so we’re celebrating the All Blacks progression to the World Cup final with Margaritas!

I asked similar questions when I first discovered the plaque. Was this a sales gimmick or is this supposed to be a forest service or a park service hat? Is the plaque just something someone stuck down in the box at some point? There's nothing I see in the box or the hat to tell me.

But honestly, for as curious of a person as I am and as many questions as I ask, I would make an awful detective. It wouldn't surprise me if I'm overlooking the most obvious clue.

Do you have a collection of Smokey memorabilia?
