This Gannon’s open crown is about 6 ¼” tall. At your hat size, I think a 5 ¾” crown won’t look overly tall.
Thanks. I'm excited to try the taller crown.

I have enough bashing experience now to feel confident I can make it work, but I don't have any fedoras over 5 1/2 so I am feeling a tiny bit apprehensive.

That 6 1/4 looks great on you, though.

I hope you have a fantastic start to your week!

Very nice , Brent. I like the way you shaped the brim.

Brilliant trip! Agrigento - Syracuse -Catania - Taormina is one of my favorite runs.

That Dunlap looks to have been the perfect choice. How did it hold up to the constant wear?
Thanks, Nathan. Had to skip Catania and Taormina due to limited time, but indeed a brilliant trip. The Dunlap held up perfectly; it's very flexible panama with just the right amount of airiness to the weave. Picked it because I can keep it on my head while taking pictures and the brim doesn't get in the way.

Well, I'm back. Feels a bit appropriate to qoute The Lord of the rings after visting mount doom. Etna was close enough for me anyway. The hats of the week don't show a lot of variation, because the Dunlap panama was the only hat I brought to Sicily with me.

I have been trying to look at all the hats, but the site wasn't very forthcoming to be honest. Consider your hats and comments liked and appreciated.
Sharing your Sicilian sojourn is much appreciated too. The straw hats are perfect for the Mediterranean and those last two photos underline the difference between north and south Europe. You look fabulous Stefan.

Fantastic attire Randy! You and Fabio are two tough acts to follow and I won’t even try to be smart.

Today I am hanging out with my like-new Stetson fifteen 3X in navy.

This fellow is a recent acquisition from @Rmccamey and he immediately won a top spot in my collection.

It is still too warm for him outdoors but by the time the temps drop enough to venture out we’ll be perfect pals.

I hope everyone has a safe start to their work week.

Thanks Nathan. The 3X series is hard to beat, for sure.

So where was your jump-off point to Etna if not Taormina? I’m sure there are lots of options, I’m just curious. Taormina could be a trip in itself!

Good report on the Dunlap. I am in the market for my first vintage straw and will keep my eyes out for one.

Yes, Mike is your man. Vintage Cambridge bowlers are hard to find and I just had to have one,. Mike does such a good job with the D'Orsay curl, and he was willing to take the challenge. The hat came out beautiful.

Amazing! I’ve been searching for a Cambridge derby since my first day of getting into hats! Wonderful to know Northwest can do it!

This morning I’m wearing a light brown Resistol western with a buckskin band. Last night I converted the highish sides cattleman (one pic included here for comparison) to a pseudo Gus with a kettle curl.
