Added edit for sharing some advice…. I have gained weight and my doc says it’s ok to blame the pandemic. Fine. I’ve still gained weight, and that’s not good. Especially since my hats are beginning to not fit. Yes, it’s a fact that with significant gain or loss of weight, your hat size can go up or down. I have experienced (head) shrinkage when I lost enough weight to satisfy my daughter for her wedding. Now I’m here to warn everyone about head expansion! Keep your hat stretcher handy for the holiday.

Hi Johnny, This hat is a custom by Mike at Northwest Hats. It's pure beaver western weight, so it's nice and firm. The brim is a tad over 3", If I remember correctly it's 3 1/8". The crown is 5 1/2" open and is designed to stay open.
By far one of my favorites.

Looking good Charlie. I have experienced this same phenomenon. Dropping about 65lbs changed hat size from approx 7 or 7 1/8 to 6 7/8 or 7 (with occasional 6 3/4) However as the weight returned.. I still seem to be able to wear the smaller ones. I may have to check some of those 3/4

The Crofut and Knapp Coronet Fifteen sporting what I believe the stingiest brim in my collection at 1 1/2 inches. What it lacks in brim is made up for in features like a Cavanagh edge and wind cord. Though one could argue with a brim this short would you ever need a wind trolley?

Thank you Charlie! Getting old is no picnic, for sure! Someone once said that it takes courage to be old. I'm finding that to be true. I've got one knee replacement done, and the other one to go! We're falling apart Charlie!
