The Adam Homburg if only for the colour. Wine tasting eh? I was expecting a note from your mother explaining your Sunday absence, but wine tasting!

Our weather goes from one extreme to the other. Yesterday was a washout in the morning, the rain was all but biblical, yet the afternoon sunshine was glorious, so today I shall take a leaf out of Eric's book and be prepared for a two hat day.

This Mallory is a recent acquisition. Not too fancy but it’s 7 3/8 long oval and fits nicely. I bought it to wear around as a presentable beater during my work appointments. The jury is still out on how I think it looks on me. The crown is lower than my other hats, so it feels more like a baseball cap than a fedora to me while I’m wearing it. I’m wearing it out for the first time today and will see how I feel about it this evening.

First of all, thanks to all of you for your likes.
Tonak Blu 4b.jpg

Today it is the turn of a modern Tonak manufactured in the Czech Republic recently.
Tonak Blu 4.jpg
Over the last few years I have purchased a series of Tonaks that I liked for the color and finish.
Less for the shape which is a bit too standard and formed with the machine.

Nevertheless, it is quite easy to partially "reconvert" the shape of the hat.
This is in a blue color, gorgeous in my eyes and with an "antelope" felt finish.
I spend a few words on a modern felt, for all fans of the raw material for making hats, which is this: it has a magnificent texture and touch, it is probably a bit heavy, but it is worth a try.

The hat has excellent proportions and the color stands out on a gray morning like this.
Have a good Tuesday

This OPS era Portis with pork pie-ish telescoping crown has become my goto Election Day hat for the last couple years.

A bit windy day for this brim with Tropical Storm Nicole brewing up a hurricane warning for us. But it managed to stay firmly planted on my head for my days outings to vote and grocery. However it was when I took it off to take a photo of the ribbon a gust of wind snatched it from my hand and dumped it crown first in the damp soil at my feet! Uggh! Luckily most of it brushed off.
