Split time between my Mayser Panama and my Wolfbrae today. I rebashed the crown on my Wolfbrae from a slight pinched telescope to more of a diamond, I am quite happy with how it turned out.

I do have a question though, I wore my Wolfbrae in a little bit of rain earlier in the summer, and it didn't evenly wet the ribbon. Now I have lines, watermarks it would seem, in the ribbon. If I get it wet will it even out again? Thanks!

Looks good In its new shape. I have had that happen from time to time. I find the only way I can even it out is to take a damp cloth and evenly wet the ribbon all the way around. And then let it dry out in the sun. Doesn’t always work 100%. But I’ve gotten decent results.

Thank you, I will try that.

Akubra Cattleman for barbecuing today. Whole spatchcocked chicken cooked on a bed of fresh herbs from the garden was today’s menu.

Etsuko’s wearing some floppy thing made of who-knows-what by who-knows-who, but she finds it good for the barbecue. No big deal if it starts to stink of smoke.

Cheers to you both.

Etsuko can make any hat look good.

Such a fabulous collection Stefan, If I had to choose it would have to be Londres:

How come I have never heard of a hat, which, in French, is our capital city?
By the way, I would love The English Hatter, if I could get it with bottle green trimmings.
Perfect to go with my new sports blazer. (It's still at the tailors a work in progress.)

Thank you, Robert. The Londres is a bit of a mystery because the label does in fact say "Hatmanufactory London", but I'm fairly certain it is French made, so I decided to go for Londres.:)
The English hatter is a retailer in Amsterdam and it's the only name or label to be found in that straw hat.

I took a big box hardware store errand for some yard supplies this morning. I wore my vintage Stetson panama.

Oops - I forgot and had to head back out to the grocery store. An unlined Stetson Premier Stratoliner (cadet blue) was my hat choice.
