Yesterday brought out the straw Texas Hatters bowler for a gig, on which I didn’t end up wearing it, and I started out this morning with my Lee Overbrook of generous proportions, taking my daughter to work.

Akubra Territory. mowed 3 acres this morning on my zero turn and a light rain started falling during the last 45 min or so. was glad I had the big Akubra on. it was about 63 degrees out. as soon as I washed the wet grass from the underside of the deck and put the John Deere in the workshop it started coming down hard.
The Territory is now almost dry and I think the bath it got was for the better!

Nice selection, Stefan. The VHG takes the cake. Something about a blue homburg.

Made our first post vax trip to St Augustine to see my Dad. Kinda bittersweet as it was our first visit since my mom passed last summer. We did get some beautiful weather for our visit

Making the most of Sunday I was out for a dog soiree early. A Stetson Open Road was my hat choice.

Filling bird feeders and sipping coffee was done wearing a Stetson Whippet.

Brunch grilling while sipping a local IPA while wearing a different Whippet.

Both Whippets are the same felt hue.

Errand to the hardware store for hose fittings had me wearing a Stetson Playboy.

Home and working on getting water to plants I wore a straw hat.

Afternoon had me wearing a Stetson Stratoliner.

Eric, you change your hats in much the same way that I wear my Aloha shirts, no point having a collection and wearing a few favourites.
Your Strat really looks the part, that's not to undermine the other lids. Can you send me a few seeds from your Whippet tree, it might just grow in a UK climate.
As I said, your Stratoliner was just the style I wanted for a wedding. I was going to team it up with a 1930's style suit but trying to find a blue/grey Strat in the UK proved impossible, then Esther came up trumps. I told her that the wedding had an Hawaiian theme, she emailed me her idea, then she turned it into a reality.

My old MG was the wedding car that day and I was very tempted to pin an MG badge where the Stratoliner badge sits but it just didn't look right. However Esther's efforts went down very well with the happy couple and later on, when I changed out of the collar & tie, I wore one of Tina's Aloha shirts, had she had been in business, she could have had a dozen orders that day.

Thanks for the compliments sir.

I do look forward to seeing and reading your posts of you, your wife and MG's life's adventures. I have an expectation of what you are to wear based upon your posting. Suited and shoe'd and ready for the world.

Your mid-ribbon fedora is grand. I miss Esther's posts. Her touches were fun to see and interesting. It resembles the vintage Stetson Wanderer. This hat is an enigma - I have seen and created many copies without ever seeing an original.

Your observations of my hat switching are darn accurate. I make no bones about it I wear my vintage hats. When I sweat in them they need a rest so that I can continue in the future to gently wear them. My hat rack has plenty of others to choose from. I have destroyed a leather sweat in a modern beaver hat from wearing it hard for a week on vacation a few years ago. The hat needed to recover and I did not let it. (The most durable hats I have are the Akubra's. I bet they could be worn day in day out. ) I say wear hats!

Cheers, Eric -

I haven't been in this neighbourhood for quite some time now.

Fantastic! Hard to beat a Gorasgu.

The SAn Antonio looks great, Michael. I'd say you're doing pretty well with the bird portraits. Nice!
Thanks Stefan. I'm learning on the bird pics, not so much on the selfies.

The rest of the week.

A nice set. I can never seem to run across a Playboy around here.

Thanks Reggie. One of my favorites for sure. I'm still loving that wide binding. It looks like you were well hatted on the weekend.

Thanks,
Michael
