Thanks, Chris. To my knowledge, Stetson nor Mr. Deckard have disclised the fur content of the open crown Royal Deluxe hats. The only ones I know of that claim 100% beaver content are the Pinnacle and the latest "True" series, such as the True Blue Open Road. I also have an Excellent Stratoliner and have no idea the fur content of that, either.

You conversation inspired me to wear this Stetson New Yorker labeled Pure Beaver today. A beautiful lid for a spectacularly beautiful day after the storm...

After two days of darkness and rain, the sun suddenly appeared accompanied by a mild, unseasonable temperature.

Walk around with an Echter Borsalino sold in Germany.

Borsalino Qualità Superiore, the felt color is "Dattero" and the lobbia type "Nadir 4 1/2".

The felt is very malleable and looks like it was made in the Fifties judging by the paper label and the hat's finish.

Another piece in the Lobbia Borsalino puzzle.
The walk was pleasant, but with the strong feeling of being completely out of season as the temperature and a too fake sense of late winter.

I’m not speaking for Charlie, but I have a couple of both hats. The New York LE has incredible felt, truly vintage comparable. My hat in tobacco isn’t quite as nice as the phantom gray, but both are the sort of felt I didn’t know was still possible to make. I like the style and proportions of the modern Stetsonian better, but the NY LE has the felt! Bowen @AbbaDatDeHat has a prototype Excellent quality Stetsonian that sounds like the perfect fedora to me.
