Late post but for Christmas Eve Eve I picked this Knox Twenty-Five longhair. It’s my first night back to work since coming down with the ‘rona’. The picture is pretty bad. I checked and all the pictures I have of me in the hat aren’t very good. Anyway, I can’t blame the hat. By itself it looks great.

Oh you look fine Bill. That’s a helluva hat. Glad to hear you’re back at it. Be safe.

At just under 1.5 inches, this is definitely the shortest brim Borsalino I have. Probably the shortest brim on any hat I have, too.

Happy StingyMas folks. Have a good one. IMG_20201224_110914.jpg

I hope you saw my new black hat around the shop somewhere!
I usually fondle everyone's hats in process while I'm there. I did see a black body on the block, not sure if it was yours. Mike stays busy, he had about six customers walk in while I was there for an hour or so. We had a heck of a time putting together the specs on the Aubergine Rabbitberg.

So very classy Steve! I love that ribbon treatment. Happy Stingymas my friend.

Cervo, Creazione Italiana, Gran Marca, I love the way that just rolls off the tongue. Made for the German market.

A hat where the insides are as beautiful as the outsides. Maybe only for us hat crazies, but still, I really dig this one Rick. Not usually a brim up kind of guy, but this Cervo kind of begs for that look.

Wearing a Dunlap Derby to deliver gifts to my kids and folks. I guess this is the year that my kids find out that Santa doesn’t bring the gifts on Christmas morning. :(

Even Santa needs a derby this year. This one is perfect! Merry Christmas Bob.

A special trip to see Mike Miller at Northwest Hats today in Eugene. I needed to do some Santa shopping anyway. Wore a new wool/cashmere overcoat from the Natty Dresser and the famous "Olcott" homburg. Styled after a 1912 image found in the OSU archives. I'm such a history geek, I had Mike make an homage to the guy on the far right. I might have latched onto a fluffy Aubergine Rabbit felt while there as well. I thought the Aubergine Rabbit was a children's story, Google said otherwise... on Flickr
A little fresh snow overnight, but no blizzard, thankfully.

Seems like a good day to stay inside and do a bit of cooking.

Merry White Christmas my friend. That furry teddy bear clinging to your head looks like he is doing a good job. We are a little cool this morning, but no white Christmas for Oregon I'm afraid.

I'm cold just looking at you, Michael! When it's that cold in central Texas, we have either chili or tamales on the stove! It's a tamale day for me.

Stay warm and have a Merry Christmas..

On the Twelfth Day of StingyMas

Two of the most fuzzy and grinchy greenest stingies of them all.

With a no name “Hatters Guild” tyrolean with a Celtic like band. And an emerald green Borsalino Maloia both at hand.

And what happened, then? Well, in Stingyville they say – that the Stingy’s small brim grew three sizes that day. And then – the true meaning of BrimMas came through, and the Stingy found the strength of *ten* brims, plus two (or one Stetson Standard Quality)

No hats in the frigid windy weather today.

I was out early and needed to change to warmer attire. Yesterday's blizzard brought some snow, the requisite wind and now cold temps. A wool Cordova Cap was a perfect head gear choice.

This morning I waited for the temps to rise, 9:00am, and then went back outside. Dog soirée, used the snowblower, shoveled walkways, filled bird-feeders, prepared the grill for a beef roast tomorrow, chopped ice around the boathouse foundation and helped the neighbors with some snow challenges. I am thankful for a fluffy, wool Cordova Cap.

The wind chill has us at some ridiculous temps. The actual temp is -3'f (-16'c). With a fleece collar and heavy wool and outside chores it is comfy when out of the wind.

Cheers, Eric -
