What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Early 50s Knox Westlite.
This hat came to me with a simple two cord ribbon that wasn’t sewn to the crown , leaving me to wonder if it was original to the hat.
Made a great candidate for a khaki campaign bow addition, which left the tan/orangey binding looking out of place.
I finally got around to changing it with matching binding last week.

I'm annoyed with this time change and the lack of leaves on my butternut tree. I have to get out very early to take my photos or my usual spot is in the sun with shadows across it.

Great hat and scenery. I was in Kanazawa two weeks back and drive through Toyama, what a small world! Er, yes.....that dish is made of Fish male errr eggs, right!?

That’s right. It took a bit of courage the first time I tried them, several years back, but (and my choice of adjective will gross some of you out still more) they are really creamy and delicious!
I’ve visited Hokuriku several times. This was my first time at this time of year. It was truly spectacular. Pictures coming up (hopefully today) of Gokayama and my Stetson.

Huge shout out to Jesse and Combat Construction Inc. Two and a half days to a new fence and a fantastic garden shed. Lots of room in this 4X12 structure, clear roof and a huge glass slider for "green house" action. Since it was a morning of watching the crew work, I wore a 1950s "beater" fedora made by the Hat City Hat Co. of Danbury CT.

This Wormser belonged to my grandfather Alfred Turgeon . I don't wear it enough.
He was a great roll model. When my sisters and I were kids, he took us on all kinds of adventures with his big "we're up to no good" smile. He was a veteran of the 86th Engineering Battalion Heavy Pontoon, wounded twice at Bastogne during the Battle of the Bulge. His unit operated ferrys and built the first pontoon bridge over the Rhine under fire.
I wear it in his honor today .
