Yesterday I purchased a small collection of hats from an engineer now tired of wearing brimmed hats, his current orientation is caps. So I traveled two hundred kilometers and from a delightful person I brought home nine hats, some of them very interesting. The first one I had viewed to ascertain the state of use is the one that accompanies me on my daily walk around my office.
Panizza Cloro 3.jpg

Panizza Royal, made in the seventies in Ghiffa, the historic headquarters of Panizza.
Panizza Cloro 5.jpg
The color of the beautiful felt is "Cloro" the brims are finished with a double stitch, ribbon is black and it has first-rate finish.

Most of the hats were bought as shop stock and some are very interesting, others much less. Meanwhile, let's enjoy this historical Panizza

Unfortunately yesterday I had to bury my mother in law. After services, while the party was inside her house, I manned my post on the patio where I always cook for everyone. My daughter snuck up and snapped me reflecting. Figured I’d post it, and another shot I took to better showcase the ribbon on my hat. Wearing my whiskey VS, and one of my vintage ties. Such a beautiful weekend here, I hope everyone gets to enjoy it. See ya. View attachment 267502 View attachment 267503
Sorry for your loss Alan. May better times be ahead for you and your family.

That's a wonderful colour and shape, Daniele. The felt looks soft and supple. Definitely looks Panizza at their best. Congrats.
Looking forward to seeing the others from your haul.

It started cool and rainy this morning, so I chose what I call "my Borsalino helmet," which has a stiff not too impressive felt, the Borsalino Rain Proof Line. The afternoon turned out glorious.

Have a great Weekend.
Looking good, Reggie, even if the Borsalino isn't one of their best.

Wouldn’t be my first choice for a rain and bad weather hat... but bad planning and Florida weather prevailed and here we are.

Stetson #1 Quality for work tonight.

Splendid hat, Bill.

Off to the big city to do some shopping in the Borsalino Roll-up.

Have a good and safe weekend folks. View attachment 266983
The invisible man out and about. Very nice at, Steve.

Too pleasant an evening not to be eating outdoors. My wife reckons my Panizza goes well with my samue (an autumn through spring Jedi outfit). View attachment 266994 View attachment 266995
Maybe you can use the force to get her to accept another hat purchase, Gary.:)

Very nice, Bob.

Thanks Stefan. Definitely one of my best finds here.

Great bunch of hats. Portis used some of the coolest ribbons. Like that contrasting brim stitch, too.

Thanks Joe. Great to see the Musketeer again.

Thanks Bowen. The jacket is constructed exactly like the Pendleton Topsters and the Merrill Woolen Mills jackets that I have, but I believe is was made by a very talented home sewist.

Thanks all,
Michael
Thanks, Michael. I'm quite pleased with my Portis hats, both of which came courtesy of @Garrett. Your San Antonio is a great looking hat.

I broke out this hat for another thread so why not wear it: Borsalino Mimosa with the reboot G. B. Borsalino Fu Lazzaro & Co liner:

Why not indeed. Looks good on you, Brent.

I very much appreciate the condolences and kind words, what a great group of considerate folks in here. As for my mother in law, she was a tough old broad (she loved when I called her that), and we should all be so lucky and go the way she did. She was 90 and still living in her own house (with lots of help from us in recent years, but still home), she never got dementia, never had cancer and really wasn’t in pain. She had a seizure one day and passed in less than 24 hours. I told my wife mom didn’t want to be a burden, she made up her mind and that was that, she could never be swayed lol. Anyway, I thank you all very much for thinking of us.

Great way to live and leave life Reminds me of my grandfather. At 92 He went up to visit my parents In St Augustine and brought his golf clubs with him as he fully intended to play while he was there. He Spent a couple days in the hospital. But was up and watching Football yelling at the screen a few hours before he Passed.

Bless her and the great memories you all will have of her.

Thinking of starting a new thread:
"What hat are you wearing at home tonight"
Kami 1930s, mix of wool and felt. View attachment 267238
Thank goodness I'm not the only one doing that. You can always wear a fez of course, Steve: perfectly socially acceptable headwear indoors.

40s Game Bird for work tonight.

View attachment 267288
Another winner, Bill. Quite a bit of difference between these gamebirds I notice.

Since Stefan (@steur) is featuring American made hats, here's an American wearing a Dutch made Staalmeester:

I can only approve, Jonathan.

Akubra Range hemp at my local beach today. No wind, very little waves, and plenty of sun called for this nice and wide brim straw hat. Lots of families out today with all the kids on boogie boards. I would have thought it was a normal weekend day, if not for passing the food bank in the parking lot of the Catholic Church on the way to the beach, with a huge line of hungry people waiting patiently.
I count my blessings.

It's a bit unfair: that scenery makes every hat look better!

Good morning folks. Early morning found my neighborhood covered in frost.

A Gannon Playboy (blue smoke beaver felt) and I went for a dog soiree.

Shopping errands found me switching to a Gannon Wanderer (silvermist felt and charcoal trimmings) before heading out.

I relocated a bunch of fallen leaves in a Filson Mackinaw wool cap.

Yet another head gear change for eating brunch outside (Best Dressed Head cap).

Cheers, Eric -
There's something very satisfying to watch you wear different hats and caps for every occasion, Eric. Keep them coming.

Thanks Joe. I noticed Bob's seemed to be around the same age. Would like to see a San Antonio in Kitten Finish.

Today it's Portis weather.

That's "natural" colour isn't it, Brent? I like that; very versatile.
Hey folks,

Today I was wearing my beloved akubra campdraft (tawny fawn). Hope y'all had a beautiful Sunday!
Welcome to the lounge. You rock that hat.

Lest we forget Bob Roberts: perfect brim-up there, Greg!
